This is our Gold Security Package for the Ford Transit (2014 - Onwards) van with single side load door on the left, twin barn doors on the rear.
This package offers;
- A medium-high level of protection against entry into the load area of your van
- Manual (deadlock) functionality for the load area locks
- A medium level of protection into the cab area of your van
- Reinforcement of the manufacturer's factory security
- An additional layer of mechanical security separate from the van's remote control
Note: Our electrical modification functionality may vary depending on what body control module is fitted to your van and which version software has been programmed by Ford. Whilst we take great care in selecting products and techniques that we believe are effective to increase your van's security, we can never guarantee that any van is safe from a break in. For your information, 2019 - Onwards Transits should have this security update applied as standard from the factory.
If your van has already got the Ford 'Software Update', then you will not need our electronic modification and can save £40 inclusive of VAT from the fitted price above.Our installer can test your van on the day of installation and advise you if you have had the Ford Security update. Alternatively there is a test procedure you can follow in the features tab above to help you determine this yourself.

Do I need the electronic mod?
Please follow the steps below to determine whether your vehicle already has the modification as standard.
Ford Transit (2014 - 2018)
Test to check if the electronic upgrade is needed:
- Lock the van with the remote locking from the key fob & leave it for 2 minutes
- Get the ignition key and pop open the bonnet via the grill (this will then activate the alarm if you have one)
- Without turning the alarm off, go to the drivers door & now unlock the drivers door with the key 3 or 4 times, now open the door
- Now check that the load area is still locked
- Go back to the drivers door and press the lock and unlock button multiple times
- Now check that the load area is still locked
If your load area should stays locked you do not require this modification
Ford Transit (2018 - Onwards)
Test to check if the electronic upgrade is needed:
- Lock the van with the remote locking from the key fob & leave it for 2 minutes
- Unlock the drivers door with the ignition key 3 or 4 times and open the door
- Now check that the load area is still locked
- Go back to the drivers door and press the lock and unlock button multiple times
- Now check that the load area is still locked
If your load area should stays locked you do not require this modification
Please always double lock your van from the factory remote control each time you lock it (unless you have left someone inside the van as then it wouldn't be safe for you to do so). This will enable you to maximise the effect of this security package.

The news that Armaplate have revised the design of the Driver's door lock protector of the new shape Transit (Mk8 2014 onwards big Transit, not the Custom) is welcome here at Sussex Installations as the previous design was not really suitable for us and we struggled to see much benefit in it being fitted at all. Nearly every day we get a call from a Ford Transit Owner who has been broken into, they are just not aware that they are so vulnerable!
