SUSSEX INSTALLATIONS - VAU5-PP-1S-RB-D - -

This is our Platinum Security Package for the Vauxhall Vivaro (2014 - 2019) van with single side load door on the left, twin barn doors on the rear.

This package offers;

  • A Med to high level of protection against entry into the load area of your van
  • Detection of intrusion into the load area of your vehicle via your factory fitted alarm system
  • Reinforcement of the manufacturer's factory security
  • An additional layer of mechanical security separate from the van's remote control

Note: You must already have a factory fitted alarm on your van in order to purchase our Platinum Package. If you do not already have an alarm fitted then we suggest that you look at our Gold Package and consider also purchasing a full alarm system with the additional load area detectors.

You can test if you have a factory fitted alarm system on your Vauxhall Vivaro 2015 van by;
1) Double locking your van
2) Waiting for 2 minutes
3) Don't touch your factory remote control buttons!!
4) Now put the manual key inside the physical key hole in the passenger door handle and unlock the van
5) Open the passenger door

If your alarm sounds at this point then, then you will know that you have a factory fitted alarm fitted, you can now press the unlock button on your remote control to turn off the alarm. If you didn't hear the alarm sound then you do not have an alarm system fitted to your van.

Subscribe to both our YouTube channel and website newsletter to keep up to date with van security products and advice; as things are constantly changing as we respond and adapt to new attack techniques as we see them.

Whilst we take great care in selecting products and techniques that we believe are effective to increase your van's security, we can never guarantee that any van is safe from a break in.

To maximise the effectivenes of your security package;
A) Double lock your van from your remote control everytime you lock it* (Unless you have left somebody in your van and then it is not safe to double lock it).
B) Put your deadlocks on at every possible chance.
To maintain your additional security, you should;
A) Spray inside the Key hole once per month with a P.T.F.E. lubricant; such as GT85 - NOT WD40.
B) Spray the hook bolt behind the hook and in front of it once per month with white spray grease.
C) Book in with us for a yearly check up and security review.
F.A.Q.
Q) My deadlock key won't come out?
A) Make sure your key is horizontal and NOT vertical , also try the key in both horizontal positions (ie turn the key 180 degrees and try again).
Q) I can't open my side load door or rear barn doors?
A) 1st double press the unlock button on your van's remote control and then make sure the deadlock is unlocked.
Q) I tried to open my door with the deadlocks still locked and now they are jammed?
A) Try gently pressing your door closed while you turn the key to unlock your deadlock, but be careful not to push too hard on your van's panels as you don't want to damage them.
Q) I can put my deadlock key in, but the key won't turn at all in the lock?
A) You might have got some dirt inside the lock or you have not lubricated the lock regularly. Spray some P.T.F.E. lubricant inside the lock to dislodge the dirt (watch our videos on YouTube for a detailed guide on how to do this).
Q) My key turns in the lock to the point when the hook bolt usually shoots out, but it is now stuck and I can't put my deadlocks on.
A) If you can open your door then use a small flat bladed screwdriver to help the hook bolt to come out at the same time as turning your key. Then lubricate the hook bolt with white spray grease (watch our video on YouTube for a detailed guide on how to do this).
Q) Is it still possible for someone to break into my van?
A) Yes, you have made it considerably more difficult for them to do so. But it is impossible to stop someone who is determined enough and who has the capabilities to do so.
Platinum package only
Q) My speedo display shows that my side rear door is open sometimes when I drive my van?
A) This could be the PIR detector in your load area detecting movement inside the rear of your van, secure any unstable objects in the rear of your van.

History of the problemWe wrote about this problem in July 2018 after launching our external and internal shield set for the Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, Nissan NV300 and Fiat Talento owners. But we have seen this hole in the back door break in method becoming increasingly more and more of a problem for owners of these model vans. The extent of the damage to the van is ... A question that we often get asked is 'What's the best lock for my van?' and our response is always to ask some questions about the van make / model & year of the van and what the van is used for and by how many different people. Our advice is typically to implement a three strategy approach; if possible for the vehicle and within the budget of the van owner rather tha... Roger Bisby from Skill Builder visited our Sussex Installations workshop here in Eastbourne along with his camera and production partner Dylan Garton.
