The problem? Thieves are removing the plastic wing/wheel
arch at the front of the vehicle which exposes the ECU. By forcibly removing
the two electric plugs & plugging them into a second ECU with a matched key
they can press the unlock button on the new remote which will unlock the van
& turn off the alarm system (including any retrofitted CAN Alarm systems).
The thieves can then open the cab doors, change the ignition module behind the
dash, put their key in the electronic ignition and start the vehicle.
