The problem? Thieves have discovered a new way to steal your van via overriding the manufacturers immobilisation system by connecting a Laptop / PDA / EDI Key into the OBD socket and programming a new key into the ECU.

They start by decoding the manufacturers door lock which unlocks all the doors, disables the alarm and gives them the key combination for your van so they can get a key cut with a new chip. Once the key is cut they return to the van, unlock the doors with the new key and then connect their Laptop/PDA into the OBD/ECU connection where they can program in the new key, start the vehicle and drive it away. All without causing any damage!

The solution! This patented, lockable OBD Port Protector encompasses the OBD Port Plug in a secure, key operated box preventing thieves from stealing the vehicle by this method. Non-invasive installation means the product is easily installed for instant protection with no special tools.

In addition to preventing the vehicle from being stolen, the device also stops the ECU mileage from being manipulated and engine performance altered. We also offer a larger box for customers who have trackers installed into the OBD port.

This OBD Port Protector is compatible with the Euro 5 Ford Custom; which is typically the 1st Custom vans from 2012 until a switch over around 2016. Please note that there was not any shape change to show that the Custom swapped from a euro 5 engine to a euro 6 engine in 2016.

To tell if your Ford Custom (2012 - 2018) is Euro 5 or Euro 6 then please see below;
