SUSSEX INSTALLATIONS - VAU1-ALA-PIR - -

This is our Vauxhall Vivaro 2001-2014 van hard wired PIR detector that gives line of sight protection in the load area. This upgrade is designed to be fitted to Vauxhall Vivaro 2001-2014 vans that have a factory fitted alarm system. 

If an intruder breaks into your Vauxhall Vivaro 2001-2014 van through a high level of destruction attack (such as folding your side door or rear barn door down or cutting a hole in the roof or side of your van) to remove contents without opening your van doors; then your alarm won't be aware of the attack and not even sound! The increase in these high level of destruction attacks in general and especially on Renault Trafic (and similar sized) vans means that it is really important to have a load area PIR detector fitted in addition to your factory or aftermarket alarm system. We also recommend high position door switches to be fitted to your side load door in addition to this PIR detector.

The installation of this Vauxhall Vivaro 2001-2014 Hard Wired PIR detector kit is compatible with all Vauxhall Vivaro 2001-2014 vans that have a factory fitted alarm system as standard. It is also compatible with Vauxhall Vivaro 2001-2014 vans that have aftermarket alarm systems too.

You can test if you have a factory fitted alarm system on your Vauxhall Vivaro 2001-2014 van by;

1) Double locking your van

2) Waiting for 2 minutes

3) Don't touch your factory remote control buttons!!

4) Now put the manual key inside the physical key hole in the driver's door handle and unlock the van

5) Open the drivers door

If your alarm sounds at this point then, then you will know that you have a factory fitted alarm fitted, you can now press the unlock button on your remote control to turn off the alarm. If you didn't hear the alarm sound then you will likely need to have an alarm system fitted in addition to load area sensors.
