SUSSEX INSTALLATIONS - FOR5-ALA-SWITCH - -
This is a switch kit for the Ford Transit Connect van Nearside (left side) load door. 

If your Ford Transit Connect has a Factory fitted alarm system? Then the alarm will not be set off if someone folds your side load door down from the top to remove contents from the load area of your van. If you have this switch fitted then the alarm will be alerted that the door has been tampered with when it has been pulled out by only a short distance and the alarm will sound. This will alert you and/ or others near you van that it is under attack and make the break in less likely to happen!! It will also make the damage caused by the door being folded all the way down, less likely to happen if the attacker is scared off by the alarm sounding.

Please note that you must already have an alarm system fitted to your Ford Transit Connect van in order for us to fit this high position door switch.

To test if your Ford Transit Connect has an alarm system already installed, please follow these steps.

1) Double lock your van from the remote control (press the lock button twice)
2) Wait 2 minutes
3) Unlock the driver's door using the manual key (don't unlock with the remote). The alarm might give a warning sound for 20-30 seconds before going into a full alarm, so patiently wait for up to 1 minute to see if your alarm sounds.

If you hear an alarm at this point then this is confirmation that you have an alarm system fitted to your van, you can now press the unlock key on your remote control to stop the alarm from sounding and close your bonnet. If you do not hear an alarm at this point then you do not have an alarm system fitted.

It is also very important to make sure that your alarm system is not deactivated by a manual key being turned in your driver's door barrel. If your alarm does deactivate by your manual key in your driver's door barrel then you should also have our electronic upgrade.
