A common method of vehicle break-ins is by means of a screwdriver being forced through a gap between the handle and the vehicle body to lever onto the back of the OE lock mimicking the action of the key being put into the manual lock on the door and turned. The ProPlate is a neat stainless steel shield that acts as another layer of defence between your handle and the bodywork of your van and the overall size of the Pro Plate is larger than your van handle; This gives reinforcing to the most vulnerable area around your handle and also means that it might also be suitable as a repair product to cover up an existing hole in your van door (if you have already been broken into). It is secured behind the manufacturers door lock but clearly visible to a would-be thief; a great visual deterrent.

DIY Installation? There is no drilling or cutting metal involved with the installation of the Pro Plates, so they are quite suitable for DIY installation. You will need to disassemble the door interior trims and remove the outside handle in order to fit the Pro Plates, so some mechanical knowledge and tools will be required to do this.
