This loom guard protects the rear barn door of your Ford Transit from sharp knife / hacksaw blade attacks.
When Ford released the new Ford Transit in 2000 there was a security vulnerability that unlocked both the rear barn door and the side load door if the rear door wiring loom was attacked. This attack is silent and low skill / minimal effort, which has made it deadly for Ford Transit owners for years.
The problem was addressed by Ford by around 2002, which meant that the attack is not likely to be effective on those model vans now; however the attacks are still going on even with today's Ford Transit vans and although this might not result in the attacker gaining access to the vans, it does result in costly damage to the vehicle wiring loom in terms of parts, labour and downtime while the vehicle is off the road.
We can fit the loom guards to both the driver side and the passenger side, however the price here is just for one. We would recommend fitting a loom guard to all Ford Transits on the drivers side and many customers would have them fitted to the passenger side rear barn door too; which will protect the brake light and number plate wiring from attack.
