This is an electrical modification service that we can offer to stop the Fiat Scudo 2022 onwards van driver's door lock and passengers door lock from unlocking the load area of your Citroen Dispatch van. We also stop the rear barn door lock from unlocking the central locking of the van too, so that it will no longer unlock the side load doors of your van.
If you have a remote control to lock and unlock your van then you really do not need to use the physical key in the locks of your van, but the lock being there is a massive security vulnerability for load area where you keep your tools and cargo!!
Basically we separate the manual locking barrels from activating the van's central locking system, this means that you have a much better chance of utilising the factory fitted remote deadlocking on your van. The factory deadlocking is activated by you pressing the lock button on your remote control twice (in quick succession), once activated the internal release handles do not open your doors and your vehicle is in a more secure state than just a single press of your remote control's lock button. But the problem is that the manual locks (that are fitted to your van for an emergency) will override the factory deadlocking if they are forced by thieves who want to steal the contents of your van. Not only do the factory barrels take off the factory deadlocking, but they also unlock every door of your van!! Meaning that if any of the factory barrels are attacked, then your load area will be unlocked and as standard you have 3 manual barrels on your van (driver's, passenger's and rear barn doors).
We suggest that you also have an Armaplate fitted to the rear barn door of your Fiat Scudo 2022 onwards van at the same time as you having this wiring modification done. This modification is only available for customers who have work carried out by Sussex Installations and is not something that is available for parts only customers. We do not provide information on how you can carry this modification out yourself or support any 3rd party to carry it out. If you are a parts only customer then we would suggest purchasing Armaplates for all 3 door handles that have manual locks fitted.
We will fit a discreet emergency override switch; which will allow you to turn the lock and unlock function from your manual key back on if in the case that your remote control fails. This switch will in effect switch the ability for your manual key to operate your vehicle's central locking on or off. This will be something that you can use in the case of an emergency until you can get to your spare remote control or purchase a new one.
