The problem? With a lot of Ford Transit Custom owners now upgrading their vans with deadlocks, hi-security drivers door locks & loom guards, a lot of theft can now be prevented. This is good news for the Ford Transit and Transit Custom owners as the once easy drivers door attacks & front door loom attacks are becoming less frequent. But the problem has now migrated to direct attacks on the side load doors of the Ford Transit CustomVans.
The solution! This Shield is a development by Sussex Installations to give you a good cost effective repair solution if you have a hole in the near-side load door of your Ford Transit Custom van and/or to make your Ford Transit Custom van more secure against this type of hole through the door attack in the future. Made from high corrosion resistant grade stainless steel and designed by us at Sussex Installations match the body styling of your Ford Transit Customvan, our shield comes complete with gasket, stainless steel nuts, stainless steel washers and a fitting instruction document.

The Ford Custom and the Ford Transit (MK8) vans do have a metal shield on the latch inside the side load doors as standard, but unfortunately the design of the factory security shields does not protect the latch mechanism from the hole through the side load door attacks that we are now seeing all over the UK.
This is our Sussex Installations designed and trademarked part and is not available any where else in the world! In addition to having our shields fitted, we would also like to take this chance to remind you to always double lock your van from the remote control so that the internal release cables will not open the door up (don't double lock your van if you have left someone inside of it, as that will not be safe for them!).

Want colour coding? What can I expect?
We are happy to now offer our new colour coding service. But be aware that although we will be painting the shield to the colour code of your van, we will not be matching the variant shade of that colour to your van in the way that a body shop would (if they were repairing your van). With the metallic colours the metallic flake distribution some time shines in different ways so can cause a blotchy look from certain angles.
Van colours can change over time and also have very slight variants depending on how the paint was mixed at the factory. We will take great care and consideration when painting your shield at our in house paint facility and give you real value for your money, but it is important that you realise that the colour may not be a perfect match to your van. It will however make the shield much more in keeping with your van than a brushed stainless steel or Matte black powder coated shield would.
