Ford Custom 2024 Onwards - Side load door break-in - ,

This All New Ford Custom 2024 van had been broken into by thieves while this tradesman was working in London. They attacked the standard factory latch mechanism by making a large hole in the lower rear of the side load door. The thieves also attacked the aftermarket deadlock that the customer had previously had fitted by a different lock fitting business in a high position on the side load door and they made a lot of damage to the door. There was also some minor damage to the C Post of the van. We had a shield already developed to cover the damage around the latch of the van on the lower part of the side door, but we had to finalise a development of a deadlock attack repair escutcheon shield in order to repair the damage made to this van. Unfortunately the latch mechanism that keeps the New Ford Custom sliding door closed and locked was also damaged during the attack, but luckily we had ordered some replacement latches from Ford months earlier and so we were able to supply and fit a replacement latch for this customer. We also supplied and fitted a replacement deadlock barrel for the one that had been snapped on the side load door and we changed the rear barn door deadlock barrel to one that would use the same key as the one that we fitted for the side load door.
