VW T5 Transporter - Armaplate and Deadlocks After Break in - ,

This was a customer who came to us after he had his Volkswagen Transporter T5 broken into by a screwdriver attack to the driver's door handle.

We typically don't offer the Armaplate product for the driver's or passenger's door of the Transporter T5 due to the difficulty in fitting with the entire door panel and window having to be removed. Also some of the Transporters have this panel pop riveted in; which makes the job so much worse.

But this was a good option for the customer to have the Armaplate fitted to cover the damage that has been caused to his van and to secure the van against future attacks of the same nature. So we did offer the Armaplate on this occasion (at an additional cost) as it made sense.

We also fitted deadlocks to the load area to give an extra layer of security. 

The deadlock on the side door is fitted in our high position and this is not suitable for vehicles with a window in the side door. We also have a lower position lock too.  

The deadlock on the barn door shown is fitted in the lower position and this is suitable for vans with windows in the rear of it. We also have a mid height deadlocks position for the rear door (which is not suitable for vans with rear wipers). 

Please specify with us at the time of order if you have a specific requirement of which lock position you would like for either door and tell us if you have windows in the load area of your van.
