Original description

WARNING - Be careful what you are buying online as there are shockingly bad quality Jerbor (and other) Counterfeit rip off van security products being sold on eBay. Watch out as jerbor-uk-shop have ripped off Sussex Installations images, which could make you think that you are buying a top quality Sussex Installations product, and then you will be very disappointed after waiting the long wait for your Jerbor product to arrive from China when you see the terrible quality of their Jerbor counterfeit rip off attempt at cloning a Sussex Installations product! We need to be clear that these Jerbor products are not made, sold or authorised by Sussex Installations or Sussex Installation Team LTD. We absolutely do not offer support for Jerbor rip off copied products! If you buy a Jerbor product, then we suggest that you send it back to them or throw the poor quality Jerbor product in the bin and do not fit it to your van, as it seems that they really do not have a clue what they are doing in relation to van security from our experience! If you are reading instructions sent by Jerbor that show our company name Sussex Installation Team LTD, then this is because Jerbor have ripped off parts of our instruction manual illegally and in violation of our copyright, and we are NOT affiliated with them and we have NOT authorised them to use our intellectual property. Furthermore, in our experience it seemed that they had cross-bred our instruction manuals from 3 different model vans and products with some kind of Jerbor artificial NON intelligence to produce some utter gibberish with very incorrect fitting positions for their Jerbor product that would make holes in the wrong place of your door and leave you in a huge mess!

Sussex Installations do not use resellers of our products. If you see a product sold by anyone else that looks like a Sussex Installations product, then there is a good chance that it is a counterfeit, rip off, poor quality copy of our product.

If you are looking to buy van security or get van security advice, then you should come directly to Sussex Installations via our website or give us a call on +441323 638999, https://www.sussexinstallations.co.uk

Common questions

What is Jerbor, and why did Sussex Installations make a warning video about it?

Jerbor is a China-based eBay seller found selling counterfeit van security shields copied from Sussex Installations' own designs and product photography. Jeff Scott bought one of their products to show buyers exactly how poor the copy is compared with the genuine item.

Are Jerbor's fitting instructions accurate?

No. Jeff found Jerbor's instructions still carried the Sussex Installations name from the copied original, and the fitting measurements were wrong, apparently blended together from three different vehicle models, a Transit, a Vauxhall Vivaro and a Transit Custom. Following them would have drilled holes in the wrong position on a genuine Ford Transit door.

What happened when Sussex Installations tested Jerbor's shield using Jerbor's own measurements?

Testing on a demonstration door rather than a customer's van, the shield didn't fit at all, confirming the instructions were unusable. Even using Sussex Installations' own correct measurement for the genuine shield, the Jerbor copy still didn't match the contour of the door.

What quality problems did the counterfeit Jerbor shield have?

The metal shield didn't match the contour of the van door, had visible marks and a poor-quality finish, and came with a rock-hard, badly shaped gasket that wouldn't seal properly against the door, unlike the genuine Sussex Installations shield's shape-matched fit and finish.

Does Sussex Installations sell through resellers?

No. Sussex Installations sells directly through its own website, eBay store and Amazon store, so any listing from another seller offering what looks like a Sussex Installations product is very likely a counterfeit or unauthorised copy.

What should you do if you've already bought a Jerbor or similar counterfeit product?

Sussex Installations recommends returning it to the seller for a refund rather than fitting it, since these copies can be badly shaped, poorly finished and supplied with incorrect fitting instructions that risk drilling holes in the wrong place on your van.

0:00 -What the actual [bleep] is this, honestly?
0:00 -It's ridiculous.
0:08 -I mean, at least if you're going to rip off my product, have some brains and don't write my name on it.
0:08 -They got Sussex Installation Team Limited on their gibberish instructions.
0:16 -That's the biggest piece of [bleep] I've ever seen in my life.
0:16 -Hi, I'm Jeff from Sussex Installations.
0:24 -You might have a hole in your van right now, and you might be looking for a repair shield for your van or a security shield for your van.
0:32 -This is just a warning: be careful what you buy.
0:32 -Not all security products are the same, even if they do look similar.
0:32 -These guys have actually got no idea what they're even selling.
0:40 -They've got pictures of this bentch shield fitted on a van with a flat door.
0:40 -They don't even understand what they're trying to sell.
0:47 -It's absolutely ridiculous.
0:47 -So, Jerbor, you've managed to basically attempt to rip off my product, although to a very poor quality, and you've also managed to try and rip off my instructions.
0:56 -But your AI non-intelligence has managed to basically inbreed a Transit, a Vauxhall Vivaro and a Transit Custom, because you don't understand the difference.
1:05 -So you've got 156... never going to work in a million years.
1:29 -I'm going to come back to you for some technical support now, on the email, and just see, should I go ahead with this, because there's something wrong with your inbred instructions, um, and this doesn't look right.
1:37 -Before I make holes in this van, before I make the holes in this van, in this ridiculous place, I'm just going to get some confirmation from you.
1:46 -I would like to check that the measurement on page, 46.5 mm down, is the correct fit position for this shield on my Transit van.
1:53 -So you come back to me and confirm I should proceed as per the instructions.
2:03 -But there's no way I'm going to do this to this van, this is a customer van, it's going to look horrendous.
2:03 -But we do have a demonstration door, so just to humour you, I'm going to go with your measurements on our demonstration door.
2:27 -[Music]
2:33 -Just think, this could be your brand new van, and drill now.
2:39 -[Music]
2:40 -Well, that's the fit.
2:40 -So obviously that was just absolutely ridiculous, but let's just see, even if they were going to try and actually copy, rip off my real instructions and go with the real measurement, would it even fit, or does it not fit, just because you're making absolutely poor quality products that you really do not understand?
2:56 -Let's check it out.
2:56 -So, at least I know what the real measurement is, my actual real measurement is 41.5 mm down, which is here.
3:04 -So is there any hope that this shield could actually fit?
3:11 -Not really.
3:11 -Look at the fitting on that, it's ridiculous.
3:11 -That is absolutely the most hideous looking thing I've ever seen.
3:20 -What an absolute terrible shield.
3:20 -It's got these marks off the side, a terrible quality on the actual finish of it.
3:28 -Just cheap, and, you know, your rock hard poor quality gasket is not going to help the fit of this.
3:37 -The gasket is an important thing, having a good quality gasket to ensure that your shield is watertight is really important.
3:37 -This gasket is not going to help because the shape of it is terrible.
3:45 -When I test fit a shield, I don't use the gasket for the test fit.
3:45 -If I'm just doing an initial test fit, I want to see how well the actual shield fits against the body of the van, against the shape of the van, without a gasket sort of masking a poor fit.
4:03 -So I just want to put it up without the gasket initially, just to see does the shape match, does the contours match.
4:12 -Absolutely not, in this case, not in a million years.
4:12 -This is absolutely shocking.
4:12 -I'll show you how one should match, how one should fit, so I'm going to switch to our shield.
4:21 -Now, I like to do the initial test fit without a gasket, just so I can see does the shield match the contour of the bodywork.
4:28 -And if you look at this, absolutely it does.
4:28 -So this is what our quality Sussex Installations shield looks like.
4:37 -Absolutely spot on, matches the contours of the van, spot on.
4:37 -It's got a lovely finish to it, it's a quality product.
4:37 -Be careful what you buy out there when you're shopping online, not all products are the same.
4:46 -This Jerbor shield, best place for it will probably be the bin.
4:46 -But actually, as soon as I spent all the money on it, Jerbor, can I send this piece of junk back to you?
4:54 -I'm going to get on the message on eBay right now.
4:54 -So it's been about two weeks since I sent the message saying that now I've got holes in the wrong place in my door, what can they do about it, um, cuz they sent me the wrong instructions, the wrong information to fit the shield.
5:10 -I'm going to try and return this item.
5:10 -So, okay, it doesn't fit the shape of my door.
5:19 -The measurements they gave me were really far out, and it caused me to make holes in my door in the incorrect place.
5:26 -Then they sent me a copy of the instructions from a Sussex Installations product that they had tried to copy.
5:34 -But they had done such a poor quality job of trying to copy the Sussex Installations product that the shape is nowhere near the shape of my door.
5:34 -So let's see, can we get rid of this piece of junk and send this back to you, Jerbor, I guess, in China, and we pay the postage.
5:51 -Hope you found this video interesting, thanks for watching.
5:51 -Don't forget to get in touch with Sussex Installations for your van security requirements.
